Welcome to the 2012 football season!

I hope everybody had a nice break over summer and are ready for a new season of football.

Some very good news for the new season is that we are not playing on a cricket pitch anymore, Richards Oval (Rec12) has become a football only field. A very big thanks to Wayne Marchant who has been working with Lismore City Council for years to move the cricket pitch to Mortimer Oval. Also thanks to the team of volunteers who laid down the turf, Jason Toniello for watering and nursing the turf over the christmas holidays and Mark Conlan for making himself available with his bobcat on very short notice, well done everybody.

I am proud to take up the role of Club President and am also pleased to introduce our other committee members and officials for 2012 - a mix of old and new faces .

This year’s committee has seen the rotation of several positions as well as the addition of some new faces. However, there are still positions vacant and I encourage new and old club members to contact me if you want to join or if you have any suggestions for the development of the club.

I would also like to take the opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of the outgoing members of last year’s committee, being Jo Collis, Shayne Halliwell, Tim Fitness, Tracey McPhail and Zac Crowley. I would like to thank Jo and Shayne in particular for their hard work in creating and developing the position of Small Sided Coordinator it was a great success and proved to be a major part of the Junior club, it should be noted that this position is vacant and anyone who is interested in taking up the role should contact me.

Recent advertising has suggested that registration this year will be online. FFNC advise us that this is NOT the case. Please make sure you come to one of our three sign-on days to ensure your place on a team and to make the registration administration easier for our volunteers.

We look forward to seeing all our current players and to welcome new members - Feel free to bring as many friends as you like. Read on for more information.

Again the club will be looking for keen football people to take on coaching and managers roles. This year we are also aiming for each team to have a team representative. These roles are really a case of a small job shared making everyone’s life much easier.

If you are keen to take on one of these roles, let us know when you are signing on. Please don’t be afraid, as we will help you and it’s a great way to get involved with your kids and the community.

Coaches & Managers: The club will be organising ‘Coach the Coaches’ sessions and introduction meetings for both coaches and managers. Details to follow shortly.

Team Representative: The team representative can be a player or parent of a player. They will be the liaison between the team and committee, and will attend the monthly committee meetings first Monday in the month from 6 to 7pm.
